Our group focuses on organic bioelectronics. The Team is driven by the need for materials with the properties needed for device function and that better integrate into life and the environment.
Topics of research span from organic semiconductors with new properties, such as bio-functionalization and degradation, sustainability challenges in modern bioelectronic materials and devices, and device application, such as for sensing and electrophysiological monitoring.
Read about our different research topics below !
Materials chemistry
We aim to improve the sustainability of mixed ionic/electronic conductors by integrating concepts of green synthesis, biodegradable building blocks, and/or post-synthesis modifications.

Device fabrication
We focus on simplifying and minimizing the environmental impact of the manufacturing of bioelectronic devices using additive-subtractive methods of fabrication.
Read MoreApplications
We are touching different application where mixed ionic-electronics conductors can make a differences, e.g. interface with cells, sensors, energy harvesting, and carbon capture and utilization.
Read MoreEnd-of-life
We aim to develop technologies that degrade after the intended use into non-toxic and even biologically friendly products.
